Plan E

Our house was invaded by my friends on March 24, 2007. I'll test my memory recall. Hmmm. Mona, Patty, Blessa, Isa, Febbie, Angela, Jaycee, Joy, Ken, Joshua, Khor, Dame, Fred, Iji, Abay, Monica, Plops, Shiera, Clarence, Kevin, Joe, Long, Jerome, Rain & Raffy. Yeah. I named them all.

Part I: Dinner.
Knowing that my visitors were mostly PG, I made sure that there was overflowing food supply. After dinner, I drove them off(harsh), providing them a free ride home.

Part II: Overnight
My new barkada, the Paseo Trippers, stayed at home for our exclusive overnight party. We watched the pirated cd of Abay, Txt, but got bored of it. So we watched The Notebook instead. I also got bored of it. I wasn't in the mood to be dramatic. I was supposed to be having fun. So some of us went outide, gazed at the stars and sang love songs while the others were secretly sobbing inside my room because of the movie. Then we were supposed to have an open forum but all were exhausted. So we slept. zzz...zzz...

Part III: Outing
Plan A - We discovered a hidden resort in Pili. It was small but the pool was wide and the cottage was unique. So they were all swimming until there came the twist. We were all asked to leave because the resort was reserved. Oh well. Lucky for me I didn't dive early. Since that resort didn't have a name, we called it "Bulnawan Resort."

Plan B - My cousin was driving the car so it was okay if the passengers were all wet. Next stop: Capitol. I heard it was the old pool there and it was cheap. We were welcomed with this sign: CLOSED. Pool is unavailable. Next please.

Plan C - Ecovillage. We were still optimistic. We were in dire need to swim. But the guard said the water on the pool was dirty. We didn't want to risk sanitation. So we drove off again to the next destination.

Plan D - From Pili to Naga... to Jamaica. The trip took us 30 minutes so we just sang on top of our lungs. It was so fun! But luck was playing on us that day. The clubhouse was under renovation.

Plan E - This was our last resort. We couldn't go to Magic Splash or Minihydro because the gasoline tank was almost empty. And at last, we arrived at Spring Valley. We hated this resort because of the mosquitoes and everything else. But the fun of my party was independent of the place. As long as my barkada was there, fun would always be around. And so it did.

PART IV: Photoshoot
Sunburned, tired and sleepy, we still headed to the last destination: Swine's Studio. Most of us were vain so even if we had a terrible color, we still wanted our pictures taken.

THE END
Thanks to all for attending my party. Special mention to those who were present during the 2nd-4th part of the celebration. I have only stated 25% of the whole happening. They'll always be remembered and cherished. Thanks for the experience. I will miss you guys ='c

My "Purple-Ribboned" Babies

I, as the Rector for Days with the Lord Girls Batch 3, have been blessed with "purple-ribboned" babies. Yes, I call them my babies and they call me Nanay(I prefer to be called Mama) I never thought that I, an ordinary 16 year old student, would be a mother to seventeen girls. Being a mother is never easy. I'm glad that Nanay Yvet, Mommy Nins, ATEs of Batch1, Ma'am Maris and Manoy all had faith in me that I, though just an ordinary 16 year old student, can be a mother to seventeen girls.

They broke several rules; accordingly, I suffered the repercussion.

ATEs: Pb ano na yan mga aki mo?!?! Dakulon bagang nagraralampas sa curfew.
Pb: *OUCH*
ATEs: Pb dai mo inaanggutan ang mga aki mo? Mayo bagang disiplina.
Pb: *OUCH*
ATEs: Pb kung arog man lang kayan ang magiging batch 3, dai nalang kamo magretreat.
Pb: *OUCH*

They gave me pain; nevertheless, I gave them back love.

To my babies: I will be your Mama Pb until my 4th day ends.

I hope that through us, you have felt His love.

When your cross is too heavy, tell us. We'll carry it for you.

BASTA KAMO BABIES KO!

Paintbrush

July 2006 @ the Meteor Garden in AdNU Pacol. 4418 Acquaintance Party and Farewell Party to Mama Ace.

This is my favorite poem written by Bettie B. Youngs. You may have read it in one of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul editions.

PAINTBRUSH

I keep my paintbrush with me
Wherever I may go
In case I need to cover up
So the real me doesn't show.

I'm so afraid to show me to you
Afraid of what you'll do
That you might laugh or say mean things
I'm afraid I might lose you
I'd like to remove all of my paint coats
To show you the real true me
But I want you to try and understand
I need you to accept what you see.

Now my coats are all stripped off
I feel naked, bare and cold
And if you still love me with all that you see
You're my friend pure as gold.

I need to keep my paintbrush with me
And hold it in my hand
I want to keep it handy
In case somebody doesn't understand
So please protect me, my dear friend
And thanks for loving me true
But I need to keep my paintbrush with me
Until I love me too.

Why not?

-->March 22, 2007 @ My Room w/ my Unnamed Bear<--

Let me introduce to you my ideal guy. English may be his impuissance but Math, Science and Computer must be his sophistication. In other words, he is more intelligent than I. He tutors while I just stare blankly at his physique. He possesses the genes which I want for my son/s and daughter/s. Where did he get that robustness and that tawniness? Ah, at sports of course. Although he's often at helm of several events, he still finds time to meditate. You can see him wearing a wooden cross around his neck. Hey, I have one too! I don't have to remind him to go to Church. Instead, he knocks at our door on Sunday morning and says "Let's go. We'll pray together." He values his family especially his Mom and Dad. I love him more when he can't show up because he has to accompany his Mom to David's Salon, his Dad to Naga Airport(which is in Pili) or his sibling to a birthday party. He drives a handsome car and visits several places. He knows when to stay at home and study and when to party late at night and just lose control. He takes liquor occasionally. He doesn't puff any of those deadly sticks and forbidden toxic. He's fastidious about personal cleanliness. He looks good, smells good and tastes good(ooops!)

In a world of 6 450 000 000 people, where, when and how am I going to meet him? If I miraculously see him, will we end up together? What if I know someone who is not the desideratum of my mind but the pining of my heart?

For so many years, I have been rejecting people because they are 'unqualified.' Because I conceitedly thought of myself as superordinate, I have been imposing this silly standard for guys. My ideal guy is only a touchstone that I may not settle with the one available but wait for the 'right one.' My ideal guy is a conception of someone in absolute perfection. Therefore, my ideal guy does not exist at all.

Who am I to say, "We're not compatible because I am Pb and you're just you!"

Why did I realize this only then when high school days were being counted? I could have known people better instead of shooing them off. I could have took part in relationships instead of preventing them from luxuriating. I could have been happier. I could have been a better person.

I can't turn back time. What I can do now is to annihilate both my self-pride and that preposterous standard. So if this nice guy shows signs(you know what i mean), I'll just say: WHY NOT?

True Blue

Determining which institution to enroll at for high school was one of the most difficult decisions I made in my life. Now that I have officially graduated from Ateneo de Naga University, I'm proud of myself for arriving upon the best pick. Many people wonder, "What does Ateneo have which other schools don't have?" As an Atenean, I answer you with these items: Cura Personalis, AMDG & Primum Regnum Dei and Magis.

Other schools are sympathetic not with the students but with their tuition fees(e.g. my elementary school). The Ateneo, being a Jesuit institution, practices Cura Personalis, a Latin phrase that translates as "Care of the Person." This value is applied between the relationship of educators and us students. Our needs and concerns are attended to, our singularity is respected and our gifts and talents are appreciated. Thus, we become actuated to perform well in academics, sports and social interaction. In the Ateneo, our teachers are truly our second parents and friends. They drive us home when practices or meetings end when public transportation is unavailable. They furnish the financially challenged students with exemptions from the educational tour fee, contributions, and other expenses. They inquire about our family problems and we get instant though unprofessional consultation. It is in the Ateneo community where I had this significant realization: Jesus' love is manifested through the service of others.

March 16, 2007 @ the Soccer Field. The Seniors of s/y 2006-2007.

AMDG: An Magsakay Digdi Gadan. Maybe you have heard this popular jape. Earnestly, AMDG stands for Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, the motto of the Society of Jesus which means For the Greater Glory of God. We always AMDG our test papers, freedom walls, bulletin board headings and personal letters that we may be reminded that our efforts, pain, and victory are all offered to Him. *Pope John Paul II even included AMDG in his signature. Primum Regum Dei means Seek First the Kingdom of God. We have one direction in life-towards his Kingdom. We may take roundabout ways, crosscuts or deadends. Misleaded by fallacious signs and unconscionable tricksters, we often get lost in our journey. In the end, we always find ourselves coming back to Him. These Ignatian philosophies were made concrete in my life during the Peñafrancia Military Parade where I was the flag bearer of the Bravo Company of the Golden Knights Battalion. Before our actual presentation, I collapsed three times due to the extreme heat, fatigue and nervousness. There was no substitute so I just clasped the rosary in my hand and prayed hard that I may be given strength to march on two more kilometers. Else, I'll cause our school to merit deductions or worse, disqualification. Fortunately, God was advertence to let me carry our flag. After the stimulating experience, I marched on towards in His home, the Church, where I rested. We won the Most Disciplined Unit(as expected*laughs*) and offered our victory to God.

The word Magis had a great impact in my life. It means "the more". It taught me to be insatiable of service to God and others. Do good. Do better. Do best. But the best isn't really the best. So do more to be better than the best. Efface the writings on the board properly until it's clean. Wipe some more until it's lustrous. Don't be contented with a grade of 100. Go for 100+. *Our group was given a 110 project grade during the Noli Me Tangere Presentation. Don't just offer relief goods to the needy. Give them your time. Share with them your smiles and laughter. Make doing more a habit. Always ask yourself "What have I done for God? What am I doing for God? and What MORE can I do for God" - St. Ignatius de Loyola

March 15, 2007 @ the Four Pillars

Although I'll study in UP Diliman for college, I will still live with these principles and values. Ateneo is my home. Ateneo is in my heart. Although my destination is vague, I'll always be a true blue-blooded Atenean until only my legacy is in existence.

SCENE: Ma'am Neva enters the room of LG 4418 where the students are busy doing their homework
Ma'am Neva: "You should be doing your homework at home!"
Students: "This is our second home." *giggles*
Ma'am Neva: *dead air*

Friend(from other schools): Hambugon daw ang mga Atenista!

PB: Iyo man talaga. Hambog na bakong maduros. Hambog ta may ibubuga.

Friend: Ahhhhhh...

PB: *evil smile*

Alma Mater Song

Ateneo Alma Mater
Your colors we raise on high
Over mountains and hills
Your honor we'll bring
Unto the glorious end
You have taught us to pay the price
To be men for God and country
May me learn to love, may we learn to serve
For tomorrow belongs to us
Ateneo Alma Mater
High shall our purpose be
Regnum Dei is our cry
Our fame and glory too
We'll keep our hearts forever true
Ateneo for God and you!
