Sept. 16 - Peñafrancia Fiesta/ UAAP Cheer Competition?

I am having second thoughts whether I should go home next weekend. I am now saving a lot of money for a bus ticket. Although my parents can account for it, I want to do it myself. I am now Miss Independent.

The special events of the fiesta will be on Sept. 15 and 16. I want to witness the MIlitary Parade on Saturday and offer myself as a water girl to the Ateneo Golden Knights Battalion. Go BRAVO COMPANY! and Alpha too! (Bias) Good luck to all participants esp my babies and my successor - Bianx. Carry the flag with honor and glory. We must hold on to the Most Disciplined Unit. We've been winning that for years. You can do it. God Bless You. I want to raid the houses and EAT, EAT and EAT. I miss Bicol food. I devour GMOs here - genetically modified organisms as Rain would call the pork chop at Pink Lace. And I want to see my friends again. I miss them already even though I've just seen them last week on my birthday.

On one hand, I want to support the UP Pep Squad. Whooooo. I believe that I am now ready to wholeheartedly cheer for my university. I don't feel bad anymore at not being able to school at ADMU. GO UP! I've been with our cheerleaders and I have seen how excellent they are. I can watch them on Studio 23 at home. But standing at the Araneta Coliseum, wearing a maroon shirt and screaming UP Fight is a totally different experience.

If I choose the Peñafrancia Fiesta, I should leave Manila on Thursday night. I would miss two subjects on Friday - Eng12 and Comm3. Aw. I wouldn't see crush number two. Worse, I would lose the 0.25 incentive for perfect attendance. But I'd still have a 0.25 incentive for a special project. I must have a GWA of 1.75 to be able to shift that's why 0.25 means a lot to me.

If I choose the UAAP Cheer Competition, I would surely miss a lot of experiences. Jealousy would swallow me if I see pictures of my former classmates enjoying the high spirits of reunion. It would be heartrending to fail to take part in a tradition which I have been observing since childhood.

Hay. I don't know. I must make my decision as soon as possible.

Mortifying English 12

My alarm was set to 7:00 am for a report rehearsal in front of the mirror. At 11:30, I would be discussing Moliere's Tartuffe as a satire in the Neoclassical Period. I was so enthusiastic with this event for a number of reasons. It is a major requirement which would drag my grade to uno or singko. It holds great historical value for it's my first report in college. I know it's mushy. I'm not ashamed to admit that I consider the firsts in my life as significant memories as many ladies do. (Gee Pb, you sound so baduy). Moving on, the ultimate motivation for this report is my crush number two. He was one of the listeners so I didn't want any flaws on my presentation. Maybe I wanted to impress him. Kirs! Haha.

>>FAST FORWARD>>

Whew. I was a little nervous but I remained in perfect composure during the report. I went back to my chair beside Em and exclaimed "Thank God. Nothing bad happened." Meanwhile, the next reporter was erasing the writings on the whiteboard. She made several strokes with it but the green texts remained unmoved. Then everyone including Prof was throwing me concerned looks. In their minds, I can tell they were telling me "Hala!" I immediately looked at the green pen on my hand and read 'waterproof...permanent.' I hurriedly kept it in my bag. With confidence, I told them "No, it's not my pen. Prof, there's something wrong with the whiteboard." She replied "Yes. The board is absorbing too much ink." After that was a burst of laughter. I caught crush number two also laughing at me. I felt both embarrassed and happy. So joined them and laughed at my foolishness.

Friends told me that the ink could be cleared by alcohol or acetone. I hope the janitor would clean it. If it's still there by next meeting, the feeling of embarrassment and guilt would torture me for the whole period. That would remain a permanent mark in my college life. I hope that too would leave a permanent memory in my classmates...especially him. "I remember Pb...the one the one who used permanent green ink pen for the whiteboard."

If you happen to pass by CAL 301, take a peek and you would witness my beautiful handwriting.

UP System goes smoke-free

I read it in UP's post. It's good news for me for I am uncomfortable being around with people puffing those deadly sticks. It's not because I judge them immediately as mobsters, gangsters and the like. I just don't want to inhale smoke. Period.

I have doubts that this policy will be properly observed in UP Diliman [obviously] because of its enormous expanse. That's redundant already. But you get the point. It can be likened to implementing that policy in a baranggay or village.

I have no figures if it is limited to the academic buildings. What about the streets? dormitories? sunken garden? lagoon? Hehe. If the authorities are really serious about it, then they have to populate the campus with n security guards, patrol officers, whatever you call them. I know there's a UP term in the freshie kit, I just can't recall it. Hehe. Back to the matter, that would be very unlikely. That's another plus to the investments which are coming from our tuition fees. JUNK TOFI. I lost the topic, sorry. Hehe.

I am certain that a number of students, faculty members, etc. will be really disappointed. If I were a smoker and smoking is my life, this policy would kill me. Oh well, I won't be surprised if I see banners cursing the authorities. Peace.

Memorized by heart...

Pilar: You’re mistaken about my feelings.

He: No, I’m not mistaken. I know you don’t love me.

But I’m going to fight for your love. There are some things in life that are worth fighting for to the end.

You are worth it.

"I am still going to sit here with you by the river. If you go home to sleep, I will sleep in front of your house. And if you go away, I will follow you—until you tell me to go away. Then I’ll leave. But I have to love you for the rest of my life. "

Mother earth swallow me!

I availed a copy of Harry Potter Book 7 last Saturday. When I was already on the 6th chapter, I realized that I haven't read book 6 yet. I'm stupified! So now I am in dire need for that copy. Can anyone lend me? If there's none, I have to depend on bulastog again(hyerbolic but almost true) so that i'll be able to save money. I don't want to ask my parents again for money. I'm shy. And considerate of course. Hehe. Sometimes I'm tempted to continue my reading but I know I wouldn't fully understand the book without reading the previous ones. And as much as possible, I don't talk about it when Riley's around because he's a serial spoiler. Hehe. I really feel so stupid right now. Urgh. I invested a lot on that book and I can't make use of it without buying another one. Tsk3.

I abhor myself for being kitsch.

We shook hands.

Freeze.

Hi, I'm [insert name here]

*-*-*-*

In the toki jeep, he was seated in front of me.

Those eyes...that smile...

Everything else was inconspicuous.

*-*-*-*

He called my name.

I got extremely nervous.

"Pb may barya ka sa 500?"

H-ha???

"May barya ka sa 500?"

Ww-wala.

I hate him for asking that.

It made me feel so stupid.

In fact, I did have bills.

If only he didn't distract my disposition,

he would have gotten 100 bills.

He made me feel so stupid.

*-*-*

I hate him for asking my number.

When my phone beeps, I feel a rush.

That deteriorates into disappointment.

It's not him.

I hate him for asking my number.

*-*-*-*

He caught me staring at him.

He waved me hi.

His smile captured me.

He captured me.

*-*-*

I was cheering.

Let's go UP!

He was there right in front of me.

I got lost in the routine.

I rehearsed in front of the mirror for countless hours.

Yet I forgot the steps.

I hate him for being there.

After causing me embarrassment,

he gave me five.

For nanoseconds, I felt his hand.

For nanoseconds...

*-*-*

First name.

That's all I know about him.

First name.

*-*-*

The more mysterious a person remains,

the more you get attracted to him.

*-*-*

Today I saw him again.

Today he smiled at me again.

*-*-*

Tomorrow in my first performance on stage

I hope he'll be there on the crowd

I wish I won't see him

I have been rehearsing for many days

I don't want another embarrassment

I wish I won't see him

But I want to see him
